Exploring Asheville, North Carolina

We just got back from spending a long weekend in Asheville, NC to celebrate my husband’s 30th! We had a pretty amazing time – the city is just so different from most places we’ve been.

We stayed in our first Airbnb, and I HIGHLY recommend looking into 80 LEX if you're visiting. The location was perfect and the design of the entire building is incredible.

The food here is definitely worth going for – both being vegetarians, we’re always concerned we won’t have many options. But, we were able to find several options everywhere we went.

A few recommendations: Curate, Tupelo Honey, Over Easy, Biscuit Head, Gan Shan Station. For drinks (endless choices): Burial, One World, Twin Leaf, Lexington Ave., Soverign Remedies.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do much hiking since Hurricane Michael had just made its way through the state and things were pretty flooded. Next time!

We also fell in love with the River Arts District. So many beautiful shops with local art, pottery, furniture. Even the street art was incredible.
